Creative Learning Preschool’s “Here for Good Campaign”

Despite the bountiful amenities and family-supporting careers we enjoy in downtown Madison, the downtown has become a sort of ‘childcare desert.’ In fact, there is only one city-accredited center open to the public that provides daycare for infants in central downtown: Creative Learning Preschool. The CLP ‘Here for Good’ Capital Campaign is committed to raising the funds to purchase our home just two blocks off the Capital Square and preserve a provider of high-quality early childhood education that is so critically important to our community. If we do not raise the funds for the downpayment by August 2016, our school will have no guarantee to remain downtown as rents increase or if our building were sold for redevelopment. Affordable child care will be in jeopardy for about 125 families every year, as well as thousands more families who will live and work in downtown Madison in the future.

Purchasing this building will not only give Madison a permanent daycare downtown– it will drastically reduce costs, with immediate annual savings of more than $50,000 and future savings of more than $300,000 annually. CLP will reinvest these savings into broadening scholarship programs for low-income students, maintaining affordability, and retaining our outstanding teachers.

Most importantly, owning this building will ensure that Creative Learning can remain in the heart of our vibrant and evolving city, and it will guarantee future generations of families excellent and affordable early education for their children. Please support the “Here for Good Campaign” at http://creativelearningpreschool.org/donate/ – all donations made between now and August will be matched by a generous donor, making every dollar you can contribute go twice as far! Thank you for your commitment to downtown Madison and our youngest residents!
